Thank you for your partnership in upholding Olin Business School's Code of Conduct, Integrity Matters, found here. We will take your alleged violation of academic integrity and professional conduct code seriously and will do our due diligence to investigate your claims. Given the rise in number of cases seen recently, we wanted to offer a few tips on avoiding situations where cheating may be made easier: • If you use a publisher’s test bank and give your exams in an online or open book format, google the questions to see if the questions are readily available online. If they are, consider modifying the question so the internet answer is not correct.
• Change up assignments each term to avoid students locating past papers and assignments and using that material as their own.
• Ensure your assignments indicate if students may work together or if the work must be completed individually.
• Discuss the code of conduct in your class and remind students and any teaching/research assistants of their responsibilities. Our office is also partnering with GBSA and the SMP Council this year to offer peer training on Academic Integrity throughout the semester. We hope this creates an ongoing model of future training for students.
